Μ&R Digital, a leading manufacturer of screen printing and digital equipment, has launched the Sabre X2, a dual-head direct-to-garment printer designed for industrial-scale production. The Sabre X2 features two Ricoh Gen6 printheads (one for CMYK, one for white), achieving speeds up to 400 garments per hour in two-pass mode. The printer includes an automatic platen loading system that handles up to 50 platens per cycle, reducing operator intervention.
The Sabre X2 uses M&R’s proprietary Quasar inks, which are Oeko-Tex certified and produce a soft hand feel even on 100% βαμβάκι. The printer’s maximum print area is 16″ x 18″, suitable for adult T-shirts and hoodies. The integrated pre-treatment station applies fixative via a precision spray system that reduces chemical waste by 50%.
Pricing is $89,500, including installation and training. Μ&R offers a three-year warranty on the printheads and a one-year warranty on all other components. The Sabre X2 is compatible with M&R’s Sprint conveyor dryer for inline curing. Early testing at a large contract decorator showed 98% uptime over 6,000 hours of operation.
The printer also features remote diagnostics via M&R’s Digital Service Portal. With the DTG market growing at 12% ετησίως, the Sabre X2 targets screen printers transitioning to digital for shorter runs. Μ&R will demonstrate the Sabre X2 at the ISS Show in Orlando next month.
