Transfermation has launched UV DTF-ROBO, a robotic system that automates the application of UV-DTF transfers onto cylindrical and flat objects. The system consists of a 6-axis collaborative robot, a vision-guided placement module, and a heated roller applicator. Operators place the pre-printed UV-DTF transfer onto a vacuum pallet, then load the object (cái chai, cup, phone case, metal plate). The robot picks the transfer, aligns it to the object using fiducial markers, and presses it with a temperature-controlled roller. The entire cycle takes 2 seconds for flat objects and 5 seconds for cylinders.
UV DTF-ROBO reduces labor cost by up to 80% and eliminates defects caused by manual misalignment or air bubbles. The system costs $85,000, which Transfermation claims pays back within 12 months for shops processing over 10,000 objects per week. The robot can be programmed for 50 different object profiles, and new profiles can be created via a teach pendant in under 10 phút.
UV DTF-ROBO works with any UV-DTF transfer film, including IIMAK’s PEEL+ and generic brands. The first commercial installation is at a promotional products manufacturer in Shenzhen, which produces 500,000 custom tumblers per month.
